“Between Grass & Sky: Rhythms of a Cowboy Poem” is Best of Category Award Winner at the 2010 Mountain Film Festival, the festival’s highest level of recognition. The film was produced in 2009 under the art direction of Nik Hafermaas as part of the exhibition “Between Grass and Sky” at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno, Nevada. The five minute piece features three current-day cowboy poets reciting the poem “Grass” by Buck Ramsey in a non-traditional way: with unexpected cuts in mid-stanza between the poets in extreme close-ups with sweeping western landscapes the film leaves space to be “stitched together” in the viewer’s imagination. Superb cinematography, direction and flawless production by Jerry Dugan and his FLF Film team.

UeBERSEE received the Silver SPARK Award in the graphics category for the design conceived and produced for the OpenHouse Exhibition in Pasadena, California. The Jury was impressed by the unique typographic identity, which serves as a visual guide throughout the show. The idea of short and provocative statements, which directly address the audience and distill the main ideas of the architectural proposals, helping to appreciate the relevance of the different visionary concepts convinced the judges to recognize UeBERSEE’s work in this exhibition.
