“Between Grass & Sky: Rhythms of a Cowboy Poem” is Best of Category Award Winner at the 2010 Mountain Film Festival, the festival’s highest level of recognition. The film was produced in 2009 under the art direction of Nik Hafermaas as part of the exhibition “Between Grass and Sky” at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno, Nevada. The five minute piece features three current-day cowboy poets reciting the poem “Grass” by Buck Ramsey in a non-traditional way: with unexpected cuts in mid-stanza between the poets in extreme close-ups with sweeping western landscapes the film leaves space to be “stitched together” in the viewer’s imagination. Superb cinematography, direction and flawless production by Jerry Dugan and his FLF Film team.
